Base and Crop Period
The term "crop period" refers to the entire duration from the time of planting to the time of harvest.
The base period is the interval of time between the crop's first irrigation or first watering and its last irrigation or last watering prior to harvesting. The two are commonly used interchangeably, even though the crop period is slightly longer and the base period is typically represented in days. Henceforth, "growth period," "crop period," and "base period" will all refer to the same period of timeāthe crop period, denoted by the letter B (in days).
